Still in Rock Mixtape: Special J.J. Cale

J.J. Cale is one of the greatest in the history of modern music. His music crossed every border, from very fifties rock’n’roll with groovy sounds to country tinged with a more spleen-filled folk. His discography is a real monument with many nooks and crannies, between timeless radio hits, sessions from another time and little-known albums that are nonetheless jewels of the blues.

Today I would like to offer you a guided tour. As you will have gathered, Still in Rock is dedicating its first mixtape of this kind – a single artist – to J.J. Cale. Divided into three parts – groove, spleen & rock’n’roll, it sets out to prove that J.J. Cale is one of those rare eternal artists, that dad rock is a delight, that breathing in a bit of Route 66 dust never hurt anyone, and that you will never again be able to sit alone on a café terrace or gather around a few beers with friends without thinking that the moment would be better with J.J. Cale’s music.

THE STILL IN ROCK MIXTAPES

Original version (French)

Cale. Cale.
