Landowner
ENWHAT A HUGE SLAP. It reminds me of the first time I talked about Dumb… Landowner is a band from Massachusetts I was told about by a band I recently interviewed (it’s coming this Friday). I went to listen to the thing – since it was described as one of the best albums released lately – and came across an album that is excellent in every way. With its accelerated post-punk/post-skate feeling, its Slint-like darkness (listen to “Phantom Vibration“) and its many Polvo / Shellac-like art-rock deconstructions, Landowner just released an album like I haven’t heard much of in years. In fact, the band sublimates the industrial indie rock of the late 80’s, it’s big!
