Paul Jacobs
ENPaul Jacobs’ songwriting is like the canvas of a great painter. He started with some straightforward garage songs; that was in 2012-2013. Then, Paul added layers of pop paint, one on top of the other. While doing so, he released some of the best songs of the past decade and now he’s finishing his work with Pink Dogs on the Green Grass. If the firecracker red of his early days is now faded, it’s because Paul Jacobs has added some folk and melancholy brushstrokes, a la Cass McCombs. The whole thing is truly unique. With this LP, he buys his ticket among the world’s most intriguing artists. Paul is building a real myth, I wouldn’t be surprised if his story is told in the underground circles of the 2050s. Until then, I refer you to my interview with him, here.
